Sri Lanka's maximum allowed motorcycle engine capacity has changed?

I heard this news but i never remembered to find out the truth about it for past six months and today i did a bit of research online looking for a legitimate source over this news. I heard, and i was told by people that maximum allowed motorcycle engine capacity of sri lanka has changed recently from 350cc to 450cc. Since the availability of 350cc is really low, in reality it was 250cc and now changed to 450cc. I got this document from the government website and i still do not know the truth behind this. The document is the government gazette and here goes what i found out to the public.

How ever this is a awesome news because all riders out there who has Honda CB400, Virago 400 and many other popular 400 and 450cc motorcycles has a chance to ride them on the road legally with legal registration.

Hi, Is there anything new on this topic? Because I am dying to own a Honda CB400 bike which is excellent in every hand. But this registration burden is holding me.

- Can we register a unregistered bike as 400cc?
- Can we renew a 400cc bike which is pre-registered as 250cc, to 400cc?
- What is the risk of buying and riding a 400cc bike which is registered as 250cc?

Hey,

i'm also looking into registering a Honda CB4 legally, not as a 250. Do you know if there is some process to do this now and the costs involved? Will i need political influencing? Some sort of answer or a place to get info would be really helpful.

regards,
